Notaries

Avoidance of conflicts of interest

Attorneys are prohibited from representing conflicting interests on the basis of professional regulations (Sec. 43a para. 4 of the German Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung)). Before accepting a mandate, it is therefore always checked whether there is a conflict of interest.

Extrajudicial arbitration

In the event of disputes between lawyers and their clients, it is possible, upon request, to settle disputes extrajudicial at the regional bar association (pursuant to Sec. 73 Para. 2 No. 3 in conjunction with Sec. 73 Para. 5 of the German Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung)) or at the arbitration board of the bar association at the Federal Bar Association (Sec. 191f of the German Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung))., which can be found on the Internet on the homepage of the Federal Bar Association (www.brak.de or by email: schlichtungsstelle( at )brak.de).

Professional liability insurance

avocado rechtsanwälte maintains a professional liability insurance for its lawyers.

The professional liability insurance is maintained by Allianz Versicherungs-AG in 10900 Berlin. The geographical scope of the insurance cover covers legal advice in the member states of the European Union and meets at least the legal requirements of Sec. 51 of the German Federal Lawyers' Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung).
