The Data Regulation – how the EU will regulate data rights in future

The Data Regulation (also known as the Data Act) has been in force since 11 January 2024. It is one of the core elements of the EU's future data strategy and regulates which parties will be allowed to use data in future and under what conditions.

The Data Regulation therefore implies legal changes for almost all companies that will apply from 25 September 2025.

In our latest newsletter, we provide you with an overview of the most important provisions of the Data Regulation and the associated new requirements for your company, which, in addition to significant contractual adjustments, may also require extensive process adjustments. Companies should use the deadline of September 2025 to make the necessary adjustments without time pressure.

If you have any further questions about the Data Regulation or are interested in a workshop in which we work with you to identify the specific requirements of the Data Regulation for your company and coordinate the necessary steps, please do not hesitate to contact us!
