Arne completed his legal and economic education at the University of Hamburg (Germany), from which he holds the degree of doctor of laws (Dr iur). His dissertation deals with the regulation of local infrastructure. Arne was a research assistant at a chair for Public Law. During his legal traineeship (Referendariat) he practised i. a. in Dublin, Ireland, and, Sydney, Australia.
Arne advises companies, especially in energy-intensive industries, in the real estate industry as well as industrial grid operators. Moreover, he advises developers, investors, and operators of energy plants as well as public undertakings. He represents his clients in complex negotiations and disputes both before regulatory and antitrust authorities as well as courts.
His focus is energy with regulatory, antitrust, state aid and contracts (including auto-supply, grid charges, balancing group management, renewable and combined heat and power generation, surcharges, energy taxes as well as energy and emission trading). In addition, Arne focuses on water and public commercial law.
